HOMEWORK AND AFTER SCHOOL STUDY

Study Skills
An important part of achieving academic success is acquiring good study skills. At Salesians, we believe that much can be achieved when teachers work with parents/guardians to facilitate this process.  Parents/guardians are encouraged to monitor their son’s study and homework on a weekly basis with the help of the School Journal.

Homework
  • Homework is an integral part of the learning process at Salesian College. It is considered educationally beneficial as it promotes the practice and consolidation of work done in class, independent study, self-discipline in time management, and methods of research and working not possible in class. For these reasons homework is compulsory at Salesian College.
  • Parents/guardians and students on enter to the school sign the statement of partnership & code of behavior to agree with the above paragraph.
  • Homework is followed up by individual subject teachers and form teachers.

After School Study

Among the supports that the school offers to students in the completion of their homework are the following:
  • Evening study – 1 ½ hours after school from Monday – Thursday is provided in the school. There is a fee applicable. We also offer Night study and supervised study on Saturday and during mid-term breaks.
  • An extensive study skills programme runs for all years by Career Guidance Department.
