POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR
The following diagram summarises areas of Salesian College's Positive Behaviour policy. MAN OF THE MONTH To help improve student behaviour in the school we have decided to have a small incentive for our students. The proposal is to have a man of the month from each form class. The school will provide a special lunch for the winners. It is widely known that rewards are more effective than punishment in motivating pupils. By praising and rewarding positive behaviour, we hope others will be encouraged to act similarly. The PBLT (Positive Behaviour Liason Teacher) liaises with teachers during the month to organise this. The Criteria for the Man of the Month
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS Apart from "Man of the Month", the PBLT asks form teachers to write special announcements about their students every month. This is to highlight the other achievements and talents of our students and to give them credit for their personal gifts. These announcements are read to all students once a month. POSITIVE REWARD SYSTEM This scheme has proved extremely successful since it was introduced in 2010. Each teacher has been given a “positive reward pack”, including stamped postcards, commendation cards and reward stickers. The idea behind this system is to “catch our students being good” in all aspects of school life and to make parents and guardians aware of their son’s achievements. Helpfulness, courtesy, politeness and positive actions that would otherwise go unnoticed are among the targeted behaviours in the reward system. . |
