This is a very important leadership role in the school and a role which we promote, encourage and hold in high esteem and respect. We look forward to all our new leaders doing their very best, using their skills and talents to the benefit of the student body and ensuring our students are actively supporting an enjoyable school experience for all our students. We also thank and commend all the 5th years who applied. We acknowledge their enthusiasm and their willingness to get involved and it is a credit to them that they put themselves forward. I thank Ms. Moore and Ms. Dolan who are working with both teams this year. Our teams will begin their work with visits to our local primary schools and also working with the first year students on their trip to Lilliput Adventure Park this Thursday.
Sports Day & Annual Parents Association BBQ
Our Annual Sports Day will take place on Tuesday 12th May. This is a whole-school event and all students are expected to attend school as normal. I ask parents and guardians not to write notes to the school excusing your son from this event. By having a whole-school Sports Day it is our aim to promote fitness and participation in sporting and team events. This is extremely important to us as we endeavour to support and develop not only the academic progress and education of students but we also aim to ensure our students are given every opportunity to excel physically and in the sporting field. This event is also supported by our excellent Parents Association who organise each year a BBQ for our students. I thank all the members of the parents association for their work on this and every year we welcome and encourage parents to get involved and volunteer their time to help out at this event.
Extra-Curricular activities
We congratulate all our students who are taking part in our many extra-curricular activities in the school. Well done to the students who participated in the recent Annual Golf Tournament in Knockanally Golf Club, the West Leinster Schools Athletics and Track k and Field Competitions. I thank Mr.David Lopez, Mr. Manuel Lopez and Mr.Andres for organising the 2nd Year Futsal competition which starts this week.
