SCHOOL NEWSLETTER - JANUARY 2014
A Thuiste, a chara,
We begin our second term with enthusiasm and a working spirit! Thankfully we did not suffer any damage during the storms over the Christmas and New Year break. We welcome back all our students and look forward to a busy and productive term. Below is some important information on upcoming events and school news.
School Reports
All students will receive their reports on Monday 13th January . I would like to apologise to all parents and guardians for the delay this year in the issuing of the reports. Normally we send the reports out before Christmas. However we experienced some unanticipated difficulties with the new information system we are installing, which will ultimately make the administration of student information easier and will produce more detailed analysis of students work, attendance and progress. All Year heads will review the reports and contact will be made with parents if there are any concerns we would like to address.
Uniform survey
In compliance with Circular 0063/2013 the Department of Education has requested that all schools conduct a survey in relation to school uniforms. A copy of this circular can be found on the web-site www.education.ie . This survey must be completed 17th January 2014 and the returned information will be considered by the Board February meeting. Further information about this survey is also on the web-site.

This week 6th year students will attend mock interviews which have been organised by the Career Guidance Department, Ms. Harris and assisted by Ms. O’Connor, the Parents Association, Hewlett Packard and volunteers from our parent body. 6th years will attend a formal interview with the aim to give them the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in interviewing skills.
