SALESIAN COLLEGE CELEBRATING 40 YEARS IN CELBRIDGE Salesian College , Celbridge began its existence on Tuesday, 15th September 1981 in a disused primary school on the Hazelhatch Road. Fr Tony McEvoy was the first Principal with four staff members and fifty-five students. 2020 marks the start of the 40th anniversary of Salesian College in Celbridge. A committee was formed to organise events through out the year. Covid 19 has put a restriction on some of the events that were planned but we still hope to proceed with as many as possible when it is safe to do so. The events to look forward to are: All events will only be held in adherence with all health advice and Government regulations: 1. The 40th anniversary road race which will take place in Spring 2021. Provisional date 25th March. 2. The 40th Anniversary Salesian College Dinner Dance will hopefully take place on Friday 26th March in the Celbridge Manor Hotel. 3. The 40th Anniversary Golf Classic in Spring 2020 [date to be confirmed ] 4. A Bursary sponsored by the Salesian Community for students attending 3rd level education next year. 5. Guest speakers in the school to talk to current students about their experience of Salesian College. 6. A new pitch-side sign at Celbridge GAA has been erected to mark the close association between the school and the club since 1981. 7. A new 40th Anniversary Logo has been designed and will be used on a new range of specially commissioned sportswear which is available to purchase through 0’Neills sportswear.
