AFTER SCHOOL ICT (INFORMATION COMMUNICATION & TECHNOLOGY) CLASS 2013-2014
This year we are running an after-school Information Communication Technology (ICT) class for junior students. After consultation with the Parents Association there appeared to be a demand for junior student’s to develop their ICT skills on basic computer packages. This year we have two groups & the 10 week programme is held after school on Wednesday & Thursday evenings. The course covers Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Internet skills and the use of e-mail.
In Microsoft Word students develop their typing skills & learn to produce professional documents. In PowerPoint each student will create a project on a chosen topic that is both visually pleasing & creative. Throughout these modules we demonstrate to students the importance of the internet & how it can be used effectively as a learning tool. The concept of the course is to develop the student’s computers skills while learning in a fun & challenging environment with their peers.
This course was a great success in the previous academic year and has received very positive feedback from our students. We hope the course will continue in coming years.
